Konnect is a mobile application that makes exchange of contact simple, easy and quick. Unlike existing solutions Konnect facilitates sharing of various forms of social contacts like facebook, twitter, linkedin etc. and not just one’s phone number or email thus making it easier to keep in touch.
What can make networking effective? One of the nuances aiding effective networking is sharing of contacts. When we meet people at events or parties, we exchange greetings , introduce each other, and sometimes we exchange our contact information; or we don’t. The reason for the latter being many. Exchanging contacts, especially at events or parties can be a discomfort when you have so many new people to meet, talks to attend or something to participate in. A medium to make this less of a task and formalize this process is what Konnect aims at!
In today’s world, people like to be connected on different social media channels and not just via email or phone. Konnect also facilitates this by allowing the user to exchange variety of social media contacts. It also allows the user to customize and create different group of contacts that can be exchanged depending on the context.
In order to define and narrow down the problem statement I conducted user research to ensure if exchange of contacts was really a pain-point while networking. I interviewed 5 people in total and asked them questions ranging from what they expect out of networking to problems they face while exchanging contacts. Here is what few of the interviewees had to say:
“sometimes it’s really frustrating when I can’t hear what the other person is saying”
“I met this person at a meet-up, took his number but forgot to note down his name.”
“I was not sure if I could ask his linkedin id”
Although there are various existing tools/application trying to solve this problem they either fail to cover all the aspects or don't cater enough to minute details like quick/smooth contact exchange (ex: one-click contact exchange). Certain shortcomings of existing solutions are as follows:
Exchanging only the phone number, email address and ignores other social media contacts like LinkedIn, Facebook, Skype etc.
No means of storing the location of where one had exchanged contact.
Contact shared/exchanged is not a part of the solution or app. Moreover current solutions are used mainly to exchange or share others contacts than self.

Based on the user research conducted, created user personas as a representation of the user. The personas representated the user goals and interests and helped in focusing on the problem being solved.
In order to describe and understand the interaction of users with the system, created different scenarios where the user would use the system.
Exchange of contact is the first step in establishing a connection between two people during networking. As it is very essential to provide smooth and hassle free exchange of contact, a very quick, one touch and simple sharing of contacts is the critical feature of this solution. Exchange of contact is mutual which is very useful at networking events and gatherings as one has very little time to socialize at such events.
I initially had three approaches for the exchange of contact feature. I followed the Questions, Options & Constraints model (QOC model) to zero in on the 3rd design as it satisfied the criteria set i.e. 3rd approach was very simplistic in nature. The feedback given on successful exchange of contact assures that one is connecting with the right individual. It is easier to share with just 1 long press. There is no overhead involved in searching for a particular individual. Exchanging contact is as simple as one long press.
With design synthesis done, I started with lo-fidelity paper-prototyping and used this to get user feedback on the design and reiterate. After user testing with the paper protoype, I made the digital prototype (as shown above).

Families Online is a quiz platform whose target audience are parents. The quiz aims to engage its users by providing personalized feedback and will facilitate gathering of data for research.
I extensively reserached existing quiz portals to capture any kind of shortcomings. I used these shortcomings to derive values that Families Online would vouch for, i.e.
easy to use
With the challenge to represent the questionaire that had several options, constrained by the real estate space of the web browser and the values defines, I ideated through different ways of showing representing different variety of questions.
I started prototyping with illustrator so that I had the flexibility to experiment with colors and layouts and came up with several mockups.
A project that introduces a novel, low cost wearable and a reliable healthcare solution to detect falls among elderly, thereby minimizing fatal post fall consequences.

Prakalpa-2013, the annual tech exhibit held at PES University.
One of the most thought of problem in remote health monitoring is fall detection. Falls can cause detrimental effects on health especially among the elderly. In order to facilitate their safety, security, and continual supervision, an automated fall detection system is needed. Falls are the most common cause of traumatic brain injuries among older adults.Hence reliable fall detection is of great importance. Protofall made it possible to detect falls at the earliest so that help could made available instantly.
The solution consists of adxl345 tri axial accelerometer - which scrutinizes the body movements, Arduino prototyping board - to process the sensor data, SIM300 GSM/GPRS modem to send the data to the server, Buzzer, Switch and server side machine learning algorithm which would detect the fall. This prototype is worn around the waist and is in the form of a band. If the system detects a fall the buzzer on the system would go off and immediately send an SMS to the caretaker if it detects a fall.
